Marshall North's February Baby of the Month: Welcome Judah Smith!

Marshall Medical North is delighted to introduce our February Baby of the Month, Judah Smith! Proud parents, Sarah Beth and Benjamin Smith, welcomed their third baby boy into the world on February 6th at 9:46 a.m. Judah weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces, and measured 20.5 inches long—completing their trio of boys!

With a five-year-old and a one-year-old at home, the Smiths are excited to see how their youngest two will bond. 

“We’re interested to see how the two closer in age will react to being a big brother,” they shared. 

Their oldest, a kindergartner, has already embraced his role with enthusiasm. 

“He’s a very big helper, and he’s excited to teach the little one how to be a big brother.”

The birth of Judah was especially meaningful for the Smith family, as both parents share a deep connection with Marshall Medical North. Sarah Beth worked in Labor and Delivery for six years, while Benjamin currently serves as an anesthesiologist in the same unit. In fact, Benjamin personally administered Sarah Beth’s epidural. 

“It was great—he did my last one too,” Sarah Beth said. “I feel the most comfortable with him doing it because that is all he does, and he loves doing it.”

Marshall Medical North is one of the few hospitals in the region with a dedicated anesthesiologist solely for Labor and Delivery, ensuring that pain management is smooth and efficient for new moms.

The family’s love for Marshall North runs deep. 

“The people here are so special,” Sarah Beth shared. “A lot of the nurses are still my friends. There are new faces too, but everyone took such great care of us.” 

Even during a particularly busy time on the unit, the staff remained attentive. 

“They always made sure to check in on us, and everything we needed was taken care of.”

This was the first time the Smiths delivered with Dr. Megehee, and they were incredibly grateful for his care. 

“He was amazing throughout my whole pregnancy and during delivery. He was always encouraging and so good to both of us.” Sarah Beth added, “You really can’t go wrong with either physician at Marshall North for prenatal care.”
